![]() ![]() Through a constructivist paradigm, the methodologies of philosophical hermeneutics and new historicism, I entered Gillespie’s text to examine the themes which emerged within her narrative in the light of what is seen as “traditional autobiography”-a genre historically inhabited by white males and seen as stories of “achievement and quest.” Based on Smith and Watson’s characterization of “autobiographical acts” (63), I claim that Gillespie’s sense of autobiographical positionality, rhetorical moves, and audience awareness, discovered in the writing of her diary, makes her diary as much an autobiography as those that were intentionally written as such. ![]() Bangkok, Tailandia - 24 de julio de 2022: Portada del libro titulado 'Diario de Ana Frank', la adaptación gráfica de Ari Folman.
